Whitehall became an independent municipality in 1948 after separating from
Baldwin Township. It is located in the South Hills about six miles
from downtown Pittsburgh.The main link with the Downtown is
Route 51. The borough, with an area of 3.2 square miles,
has approximately 15,000 residents.
Baldwin Borough

The Borough of Baldwin is situated in the South Hills of Metropolitan Pittsburgh
in the County of Allegheny. Our population as of the 2000 census is 19,999.
The area is 5.44 square miles running from the Monongahela River at the
city line to South Park Township bordering Pleasant Hills, Whitehall,
Brentwood, West Mifflin and Bethel Park.
